Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) spectroscopy is a widely used and accepted bioanalytical technique for routine characterization of molecular recognition events at a solid interface. This method is nowadays used in academic and industrial research laboratories for drug discovery processes, safety, and quality control applications as well as for determining receptor/analyte affinity constants. When it comes to SPR-based point-of-care (POC) testing, the demonstrations remain the domain of research as exemplified by some of our own examples.1-9 In the last months, the concept of a SPR based POC diagnostics was pushed further. In an EU funded project, Cordial-S [https://cordial-s.univ-lille.fr/] using SPR as analytical tool, an analytical sensitivity of 75 viral particles mL-1 using cultured virus samples from patient was achieved. We believe that other unmet medical needs will benefit from this highly sensitive approach.
Therefore, the ambition of Biosensing Diagnostics™, freshly incubated at EURASANTE (Lille) is to provide disruptive innovative diagnostic solutions for specific infectious and chronic diseases. In this perspective, we are willing to collaborate with experts in oncology to be able to deliver a POC, that help detect challenging biomarkers of Leukemia, lymphoma and/ or Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. We aim to achieve a rapid, affordable, easy to use, sensitive & versatile portable SPR-based point of care testing (POCT) device assisted by AI/ML for Cancer indications.
